This Black Friday, check out these ways you can support migrant communities during this festive season.
Citizens UK are taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge. From 12pm 30th November- 12pm 7th December, your donation can be doubled. One donation, twice the impact! Your donation will go directly towards helping a community to resettle a refugee family to the UK through Community Sponsorship. If Citizens UK reach their target, the funds raised will ensure ten more refugee families get a fresh start.
At the Choose Love shop, you’ll browse products and click to add them to your basket just like at any other shop. But here’s the difference: the products aren’t for you. You’ll be choosing and buying crucial items to support refugees who are facing Christmas in the most difficult of conditions.
Like the Choose Love shop, Freedom from Torture are also giving you the opportunity to buy essential items for refugees. You can choose to purchase items ranging from Covid care packs, to toiletries, to winter clothing, and Freedom from Torture will deliver them to people who need them most. Not only can you choose to buy Christmas gifts, you can also fund therapy sessions for refugees and survivors of torture, which can be a vital step as they recover and rebuild their lives in the UK.

Research, monitoring and evaluation are essential for making evidence-based decisions that will support Community Sponsorship to grow and flourish.
Sponsoring a refugee family is a significant responsibility. We advocate for Community Sponsors to ensure that they are properly supported throughout their journey.
Our advocacy focuses on representing the views of Community Sponsors to the Home Office to support them in implementing the necessary operational changes.
We also represent the views of Community Sponsors to other key stakeholders, including Local Authorities, international organisations, the wider resettlement field, housing providers and financial institutions. We also use our voice to campaign on policies affecting refugees. We are members of the Together With Refugees coalition, campaigning for a more humane approach to people seeking protection in the UK.
