Community Sponsorship in the UK: challenges & solutions
Since 2017, the Institute for Research into Superdiversity (IRiS) at the University of Birmingham has been undertaking an independent formative evaluation of the Community Sponsorship scheme. Reset has been working closely with the team at IRiS and we are really excited for them to launch their report.
They have interviewed over 100 refugees, volunteers, and group leaders about the whole Community Sponsorship process. We know they have lots of interesting insights to share with us all.
At this event, the IRiS team will be sharing their findings from the evaluation highlighting the challenges faced and how they have been overcome, good practice in supporting refugees, the benefits of CS for refugees and volunteers and more.
The event will provide an opportunity to learn more about Community Sponsorship, to meet volunteers from other groups and to participate in workshops focusing on the future of Community Sponsorship in the UK. The event is open to all Community Sponsorship groups whether they have yet sponsored a refugee family or not.
